Welcome to MADCC

MADCC is a club for adults, young people, and families. Our members have a wide range of paddle sport interests including touring, moving water trips, flat water racing, and sea kayaking. The club’s qualified coaches are able to offer training and assessments for national skills awards in many aspects of paddle sport.

Regular club meetings, with coaching if required, are held on Monday nights at Bollington and on Thursday nights at Brereton country park from April to September.

During the winter pool sessions, sea and river trips continue at weekends. Race boat paddling sessions take place year-round on Sunday mornings and weekday evenings.

The club runs the well-known annual 96 mile Cheshire Ring race, as well as other flat-water races, and also organises regular trips to moving water, camping trips, and pool training sessions.

  • MADCC Adelphi Hasler Race Results: 10th July 2016

Thanks to all of the helpers, competitors and spectators at today's Adelphi Hasler race. Results have been emailed to club reps but are also available from the Racing tab of this website. The race starts were considerably helped by a day barge stopping to let the races get underway without hindrance - many thanks to that barge!
Hope that many people will be able to make it to Coniston to support the Duddon race on 31st July.

  • Cheshire Ring Race Update

The Cheshire Ring Race was very fortunate to have a perfect weather window over the 18th and 19th June.

Despite the efforts of the Marple carnival and Middlewich boat festivals to sabotage the race there were no hold-ups to the competitors and a good race was had by all.

Thanks to the competitors, some of whom made long journeys to participate, and to the MADCC organisers, helpers and marshals without whom the race can't happen.

The GPS tracking transformed the race making it possible for the first time in over 40 years for progress to be shared with family and friends in real time. The link to the 2016 race should remain available for a further 12 months: live.opentracking.co.uk/madccring16/
(Please note that due to Dukinfield being inadvertently given the same GPS coordinates as the start at Bridge 18, the times and splits reported for each team at the first few checkpoints are a little weird - this will be corrected for next year!)

Congratulations to all those paddlers who completed the Ring and commiserations to those forced to retire.
