Welcome to MADCC

MADCC is a club for adults, young people, and families. Our members have a wide range of paddle sport interests including touring, moving water trips, flat water racing, and sea kayaking. The club’s qualified coaches are able to offer training and assessments for national skills awards in many aspects of paddle sport.

Regular club meetings, with coaching if required, are held on Monday nights at Bollington and on Thursday nights at Brereton country park from April to September.

During the winter pool sessions, sea, flat-water, and river trips continue at weekends. Race boat paddling sessions take place year-round on Sunday mornings, and there is a monthly Hare & Hounds handicap relay to keep race skills up to scratch.

The club runs the well-known 96 mile Cheshire Ring race, as well as other flat-water races, and also organises regular trips to moving water, camping trips, and pool training sessions.

  • Cheshire Ring Race 2019

Congratulations to all the paddlers who completed the 2019 Cheshire Ring Race. Commiserations to the paddlers who gave the race their best shot but who withdrew, beaten but unbowed. Results and race report on the Cheshire Ring section of this website.

The Cheshire Ring Race is taking a break in 2020 and plans to be back in 2021. So plenty of time for training and forming relay teams: relay teams definitely have the most fun at the Ring and we hope to see lots of them in 2021.
